Now Installing Windows OS (XP and Vista) with latest service packs is now possible. Now whats surprise in this? Well the surprise is that instead of installing both OS and Service Packs Individually, you can now integrate both of them in a single CD/DVD. With the latest release of Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1, it’s very simple to integrate them with the Operating System itself. This will save ample amount of time when you reinstall Windows.

Well I recommend a licensed version of Windows OS and just go through the following steps:

  • First of all copy the entire content of Windows OS in a newly created folder of your Computer’s Hard Disk. Now copy the Service Pack in another newly created folder. Be 100% sure that the partition where you are copying content have good space.
  • Download nLite for Windows XP or Download vLite for Windows Vista. Install the programs.

Note: Slipstreaming XP Service Pack 3 with vLite will result in erroneous results. Be cautious all the time.

  • Run vLite and select the folder from where you Windows installation files. This can be done by selecting the Browse Button. Now select the version of the Windows Vista you wish to configure and click OK.
  • vLite enables you to slipstream Service Packs, integrate device drivers, add or remove Windows components etc. In the Task Selection Tab, only check the options of Service Pack Slipstream and Bootable ISO. Click Next to proceed.
  • You can select the Unattended option in the Task Selection Tab to automate entering Product Key, regional Settings, Computer Name etc.
  • Slipstreaming process will result in decompressing the Service Pack into your Hard Disks Temporary Folder. So be sure that your Hard Disk have enough space to accompany the decompressing process. Otherwise select another location from the Options present in the Menu Bar.
  • Before Starting the whole process disable Antivirus and other security softwares. Better disconnect the Internet connection. As soon as the slipstreamig process is done, re-enable them.
  • Now as soon as the Slipstreaming Process is done, vLite will brings up the ISO tab and this will enable you to burn the Integrated Service Pack OS into CD/DVD or simply create an ISO file in your Hard Disk for burning later.

Note: The above process is same for nLite too.
