Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.

Now is there any way to backup your whole Twitter Account, which includes list of your Followers, Friends, All Tweets, Direct Messages and almost everything? Yes! It’s Possible! This post features a simple service that enables you to backup your twitter account in a jiffy!

You can backup your whole user account using free service Tweetake. The service will import all things in a CSV file which includes everything viz. list of your Followers, Friends, All Tweets and Direct Messages. Either you can opt for Full Backup or Selected Backup.

Now some of you may ask Why Back Up? for Twitter. Here’s the answer:

  • Twitter may lose followers again like it did in June / July.
  • You may change your Twitter name and want to re-follow the people you were following, and contact the people who were following you.
  • You may want to refer to an older Tweet – currently Twitter does not keep all of your older Tweets.
  • You may just like backing things up.

Features of Tweetake are as follows:

  • No Sign Up Required. It’s Free
  • Back Up as many times as you want
  • The whole Back Up is in CSV File
  • Customize what you want to download: Followers, Friends, Favorites, Your Tweets or simply Everything.

Note: If you are running Tweetdeck or a similar Twitter client it may prevent Tweetake from working. Please shut it down and wait for a few minutes before running Tweetake.
