Someday back I got an E-mail from one of the blog reader regarding How to proceed for Payment while booking Indian Railway Train Tickets Online?
After replying to him in detail, I thought about writing a Short Guide with useful links regarding How to Carry out Reservation and Check for Train Availability in Indian Railways Online!
- If someone is living in Remote Area, but has got an Internet Connection at his/her nearest locality he can book Train Tickets instantly without waiting in long queues at the nearest local railway station. Though an ATM-cum-Debit Card (Like SBI ATM Card etc.) must be there with him/her.
- Foreign Tourists visiting India can carryout Train Reservations themselves (if they wish to travel certain specific cities in India by Train), without paying extra commissions to any travel agency/travel agents.
Follow these Simple Steps for Carrying Out Online Train Reservation in India:
1. First of all Clear your Browser Cache using CCleaner – Yes! It’s necessary.
2. Now navigate to Official Reservation Website of Indian Railways i.e. IRCTC. If you don’t have an account there, click Signup and enter all details ACCURATELY. Make sure that the E-mail Address you are providing is active and completely accessible.
If you already have an account over there, simply login with your Username and Password.
3. If your login is successful you will be redirected to Plan My Travel Page and you can see following form:
Now Enter Details in the Form as follows:
- In From Field type the Name of Station from where you want to travel/from where you want Reservation.
- In To Field type the Name of Station upto where you want to travel/upto where you want Reservation.
- Enter Date for Traveling from the Drop Down Menu.
- Select your preferred Traveling Class from AC (Air Conditioned), Sleeper Class and Second Setting. Here depending on the Class you selected the Train Fares will vary accordingly. AC Fares will be definitely high as compared to Sleeper Class and Second Sitting Fare.
- Now you will see two options viz i-ticket and e-ticket, along with check box depicting Tatkal. You can read about I-ticket in details right here, for e-ticket have a Look here and for Tatkal Quota Details have a read here
