How to Disable Balloon Tips in Windows XP?

For first timers, Balloon Tips in Windows Xp are very useful. But as soon as days passes on these becomes irritating, as Windows Xp always notifies you about the things that you already know.

Now disabling Balloon Tips in Windows Xp is quite Easy, all you need is to enteri a DWORD value in your registry. This post shows you how to do this.

Follow these steps and disable Balloon Tips Permanently:

Go to Start>>Run
Type regedit, this will opens Registry Editor of your Windows Xp
Go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\

Now Create a new DWORD value of EnableBalloonTips
Now enter the value of this new DWORD as 0

Balloon Tips are gone forever.

Note: After the Balloon tips are completely disabled, information like New Hardware Found and System Critical Warnings will also be gone. To renable Balloon Tips again, delete the above DWORD EnableBalloonTips.
