Windows provide Shared Documents Folder, so that Many Users on the Same Computer / Network can easily access Files, Music, Videos etc.

But Sometime, this folder may lead to Security as well as Privacy Breach. Than How to Remove this Shared Documents folder Completely? This Post features a very SImple way to do this.

Follow these Simple Steps to Disable Shared Documents Folder:

  • Launch the registry editor by typing regedit in Start|Run
  • Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders

  • Now here in DelegateFolders you will find a Sub Key as {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}.
  • Simply Delete this Sub key and Shared Documents folder will be gone.
  • For the effect to place immediately, restart the machine.

Shared Documents Folder will not appear at all and your data is safe enough with this.
