Lock your Computer by a Desktop Shortcut

Now a days security plays a very vital role. Locking your computer is utmost necessary to protect your identity, privacy and all important data. You can lock your whole computer by means of Desktop Shortcut. This shortcut will be useful for those who don’t know about the Windows Key + L Key Security Lock.

Just click on the Shortcut and your PC will be locked down. This post features How to create a Desktop Shortcut for Locking Down your PC.

Follow these simple steps to create a Computer Locking Desktop Shortcut:

  • Right Click on any empty area in your desktop, Go to New|Shortcut.
  • A Create Shortcut will appear. Simply type what is exactly written below:

C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation

  • Now click Next.
  • Enter the name of your shortcut like Lock Desktop.
  • You can also select an Icon for your newly created Icon. Simply Right Click on the Icon, Go to Properties.
  • Click Browse and select shell32.dll and select your desired icon from a list of icons.

Alternatively use Windows Key + L Key combination
