First of all Check Out How to Transfer Website Files from your Web Hosting Server to Another Server Remotely?, in order to get an idea what this post is all about!

As soon as your Domain Name starts pointing to your New Webhost, you can login to cPanel of your Old Web Host using Server IP Address only. For this just type the Following in your Web Browser’s URL Field:

http://123.12.1.2.2/cpanel – Considering 123.12.1.2.2 is your Web Server IP Address with your Old Provider. Enter your cPanel Username & Password which you had with your previous Web Host.

Now generate a Full cPanel Backup using Backup Wizard in the cPanel. Full Backup includes your Databases, Emails (including Filters and Forwarders Settings) along with all Files present in your Home Directory.

As soon as the Full cPanel Backup generation is complete, you want to transfer it to another Web Server, say ADrive, remotely. For this you have to enter following URL Format in the Remote Server’s Web Address/URL Field:

http://123.12.1.2.2/~abc/xyz.tar.gz

Considering Above:

  • abc is your cPanel Username
  • xyz.tar.gz is your cPanel Full Backup File Name. Here make sure the File must have CHMOD = 755
  • Click Retrieve/Transfer

Using the Format mentioned in immediate above URL, you can retrieve any File (CHMODed to 755) from your Old Web Hosting Provider Remotely!
