HostGator
In order to STOP these SPAM Comments and Trackbacks to some extent, Akismet is a great WordPress Plugin.

If you are blogging on Self Hosted WordPress Blog than it’s Recommended that you enable Akismet Plugin from the Plugins Area of your Blog, otherwise after sometime your whole day will be spent on Deleting Unnecessary/Illogical Comments and Trackbacks!

There’s no need to separately install Akismet as each version of WordPress Software (from WordPress.org) comes with Akismet, installed by default. All you need is a WordPress API Key after  activating the Akismet Plugin, as Akismet will not work without a valid WordPress API Key.

For those who blog on WordPress.com, Akismet is already installed and activated by default, so no worries!
